A STORIED PAST
In 1957 Emmett Russell, Jr., a leading Nashville businessman, had a vision of a club for the businessmen in downtown Nashville to gather and ‘talk shop’ during lunch, entertain clients over dinner or just relax in a warm, inviting atmosphere. At the time the Nashville City Club was established it made its home in the Maxwell House Hotel.
1957
On Christmas Day, 1961, the Maxwell House Hotel was destroyed in a fire. In 1962, the Nashville City Club relocated to the Hermitage Hotel just a few blocks away where it remained until 1967.
1962
In 1967 the City Club moved to the top floor of the new ServiceSource Tower. At the time the tower was the city’s second tallest building, at a soaring 20 stories high. Nashville City Club enjoyed 56 wonderful years at the top of the Nashville skyline.
1967
In 2023, the City Club made the move to the historic 1930's Liggett building in the heart of SoBro. Spanning three distinct floors, the new Nashville City Club offers a sprawling state of the art facility with top tier tech capabilities.
