Uncorked! members and guests explored wine and cuisine of South Africa last night at the Nashville City Club. Marty, Michelle with Horizon Wine & Spirits & Chef Toby paired fabulous, unique wines with delectable dishes.
The menu for the evening began with a Spice-Crusted Pork Tenderloin Crostini topped with apple curry and honey-lime yogurt. A unique feature of the evening, was a refreshing Spritzer guests received upon arrival that featured 2011 Robertson Special Late Harvest Gewurztraminer, English Fever Tree Tonic, Mint and Basil.
To begin the evening, guests enjoyed two wine tastings, including 2011 Robertson Sauvignon Blanc and 2010 Robertson Chardonnay with Seared Scallops. The second course offered Harissa-Spiced Prawns paired with 2007 Wolfkloof Shiraz. Next up, a 2010 Barista Pinotage was served with a Coffee-Crusted Rack of Lamb with cumin carrot puree and apricot-pine nut stew. Finally, Malva Pudding Cake with passion fruit sorbet and spiced peaches was matched up with a 2006 Noble Late Harvest Riesling, to finish out the night.
