My name is Murray Allan, I am originally from Troon, Scotland and still have the accent and the Kilt to prove it. I am a Sales and Marketing Professional with over seven years experience. I have proven abilities in developing new business, broadening penetration within accounts and achieving sales closure with new and existing customers. I have demonstrated expertise in pioneering the opening of new divisions for multinational firms. I moved to San Diego in 2007 and after three very enjoyable years in California I relocated to Nashville at the end of 2010.
I went to High School at Marr College in Troon where I enjoyed achieving a solid education and the development of character obtained through competing in team sports. In my final year I was a 6th Year Prefect and also had the great honor of captaining the Marr College 1st XV rugby team. I moved to the historic town of Stirling to continue my education at the University of Stirling and to continue my rugby career signing for the Division 1 side Stirling County RFC. I obtained a BA Hons in Sport Studies.
My passion for sport led me into a career in the sports industry first as a Sales Manager for an independent sports retailer before moving to the international sportswear brand Kukri Sports where I started as a Sales Manager before at the age of twenty seven being promoted to Director. In Feb 2011 I took up my current position of Sales and Marketing Director with Dex Imaging a document imaging and data management specialist.
Global travel is a great passion of mine and as well as my three years in the United States I have also spent six months living & working in Sydney Australia and through business trips and vacations I have been fortunate to experience several countries through out Europe as well as Hong Kong, China, New Zealand and Dubai.
Sport has been an integral part of my life growing up and I am grateful for the many great experiences, friendships and global travel and I continue to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle. In 2009 I ran my first marathon raising over $5000 in sponsorship for the Lymphoma Association and I have also completed several triathlons from Sprint to Half Ironman in distance. Today I am a regular golfer and have a handicap of 6.
I believe my global business experience to be a great asset and I continue to develop global relationships and I have made several introductions between UK companies looking to enter the US market and vice versa. Currently I am in the early stages of exploring a possible licensing agreement with a successful UK based Educational and Corporate Coaching business to bring their business model, seminars, and resources to Nashville and the US.
