Over the weekend the Club was host to a very special event, the wedding of Reigen and Ken. New members, happily in love and expecting their first child, there was much to celebrate. The guest list included numerous friends and family as well as many of the groom’s fellow doctors. They arrived as the sun was dipping below the horizon, bouncing a glow of colors throughout the room. Sipping on cocktails from an open bar and nibbled on gourmet cheeses, guests moved throug the Main Dining Room of the CLub, waiting for the newlyweds. The room was elegantly dressed in black and white and candlelight filled the space reflecting off tall cylinders vases. Cala Lillies were simply twisted in each vase, creating a clean and modern look.
After being introduced to their guests, the newlyweds enjoyed a meal of pecan encrusted chicken and citrus glazed shrimp with their guests. Homestyle Bakery provided a three-tiered white cake, positioned next to the dance floor and cut following dinner. Toasts and tears were shared as those closest to the Reigen and Ken shared stories and well wishes. Later in the evening, the festivities were interruppted to showcase the bride carrying parasols in a traditonal New Orleans line dance.
Warmest congratulations to such a sweet couple and good luck with the newest addition, soon to arrive… baby Kennedy. Now that Ken is a member of the City Club, I look forward to pictures when she arrives.
