Last night the City Club hosted a fun event for members and guests, all with the sounds, smells and sensations of summer. Our quarterly open house is a great event that gives the Club an opportunity to show off and brag to members and guests about all the great services we currently offer as well as all the great ones we are adding everyday. With a great turnout, it was exciting to see many familiar faces as well as new ones.
As guests arrived, steel drums played in the background and tantalizing smells filled the air. Quenching their thirst on a variety of refreshing cocktails made from Cruzan Rum, Amanda from Best Brands, was helpful in creating unique recipes with Black Cherry, Mango and Pineapple Rums. Chef Luis Fonseca really outdid expectations presenting a menu influenced with tastes of the beach. Servers passed Sweet BBQ and Pineapple Mini Burgers, Roasted Corn & Black Bean Bruschetta and Pork Crostinis with Mango Salsa. Meanwhile, Troy feed hungry guests Baja Fish Tacos with a variety of toppings to choose from. Chilled Watermelon Shooters, Teriyaki-style Wings and Jumbo Shrimp, Coctel de Camarones style rounded out the menu.
To hit home the message of summer, we constructed a Brown Sugar Sand Pit filled with all kinds of sweet treats. Guests were able to toast marshmallows, creating yummy Smore’s, nibble on fruit filled tartlets and grab gummy worms buried in the “sand.” The interactive station was a big hit for all!
The Open House officially kicked off the Summer of Savings, as members will receive a 20% discount off all evening and weekend dining at the Club.
